Alyson Rizk, Director
Alyson joined the Sunshine team with 20+ years of experience and has worked with every age group throughout these years. Alyson has two children (John Thomas and Cady), three dogs, and two cats. Alyson has a TCC in Early Childhood Education Basics, TCC in Early Childhood Education Specialist, TCC in Early Childhood Education Administration, and is currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education. She hopes to one day own her own center or work for Quality Care for Children.
Ganga Kumar, Owner
Ganga decided to open the Sunshine Early learning Center after working more than a decade in the field of education. Ganga holds a Master’s degree in Special Education from Grand Canyon University, Arizona, and an Associate’s degree in Early Childhood Education from Ashworth College in Georgia. Ganga was an active parent volunteer in her children’s schools in Gwinnett County, Georgia and Santa Barbara County, California. Ganga is married with two children and has two dogs. In her downtime, she enjoys traveling, cooking, gardening, and spending time with her family.
Shannon Burdette, Administrative Director
Shannon joined the Sunshine team with 20 years of experience in childcare. Shannon is married with four children and is an animal lover! In her downtime, she enjoys crafting, reading, traveling, and spending time with her family. Shannon currently has an Associate degree in Early childhood education and is working towards her Bachelor’s degree.
Ashlie LeVac, Infant Teacher
Ashlie became a part of the Sunshine team with 21 years of experience in childcare. Ashlie is married with three children. In her downtime, she enjoys doing arts and crafts, coloring, and putting together puzzles.
Regina Payne, Infant Assistant Teacher
Regina joined our team with 30 years of experience. She has a daughter (Sarah) and a dog named, Jackrabbit. Her hobbies include reading, sewing, crafts, and quilting. Regina loves football. Favorite things to do sing, play, love and spoil the children.
Caitlyn Lofton, One’s Lead Teacher
Caitlyn joined the Sunshine team with 5 years of experience in childcare. Caitlyn has one dog named, Kingston and enjoys hanging out with friends and going on trips. She is currently attending college. Her favorite activity to do with the kids is to play outside.
Jessykka Johnson, Two’s Lead Teacher
Jessy joined the Sunshine with 8 years of childcare. Jessy has two dogs, Bandit and Caspian who keep her on her toes. Her favorite thing to do with the two-year old’s is music and movement. Rumor has it, her favorite super hero is SPIDERMAN !.
Regina Trotman, Preschool Lead Teacher
Regina comes all the way from Brooklyn, New York and joined Sunshine with over 20 years of experience working with children. She has an Associate’s Degree in Human Services with a Bachelor’s Degree in Child Psychology. Her goal is to obtain a Master’s Degree in social work. Regina enjoys crocheting and reading. Her favorite thing to do with the kids is ANYTHING pertaining to music and movement.
Stacey Slaby, Private Pre-K Teacher
Stacey became a part of the Sunshine team with 15 years of experience in childcare. Stacey is married with two children and is quite the animal lover! In her downtime she enjoys metal detecting, scrapbooking, and reading. Mrs. Stacey is certified in Early Childhood Education and one day hopes to become an ABA Therapist.
Pam Baldwin, Support Teacher
Pam joined Sunshine with 23 years of experience. She has been married for 20 years, has 3 children and 6 animals. Her favorite thing to do with the children is art.
Kaylee Griffeth, School Age Teacher
Kaylee joined the Sunshine team with 11 years of experience. Kaylee is married with two children and is a real animal lover! In her downtime she loves being outdoors, fishing, and spending time with her family. Kaylee is currently working on obtaining her TCC in Early Childhood Education Basics.
Kelly Saffen, Teachers Aide
Kelly joined our staff with 15 years of experience working with children. She was a Paraprofessional for Gwinnett County Public Schools. She has two children, Christian and Jennifer. She has parrots and ferrets as pets. Kelly loves to read books to children.
Abby Blackard, Teachers Aide
Abby comes with 3 years of childcare experience. Abby enjoys art and painting. When not working at Sunshine, she spends time with her cat and dogs. After she completes her college education, she hopes to become a detective.
Ashley Cole, Teachers Aide
Ashley joined Sunshine recently. Ashley is a senior in high school. Her favorite activity to do with her class is reading… especially Shel Silverstein’s book “The Light in the Attic.” Ms. Ashley’s goal is to become a third grade teacher.
Anna Mayes, Teachers Aide
Anna joined us recently. Her favorite thing to do with the children is color and read books. When she is not working at Sunshine, she enjoys art and reading. After high school, she hopes to finish college and start a family.
Yury Madrid, Teachers Aide,
Yury joined the Sunshine team with eight years of experience. In her downtime Yury likes to shop and go to the gym. She loves her cat. Yury has a technical diploma in Early Childhood Education.
